Before trouble shooting the "Low Thrust Detector System".
Its usually more economical to send the "black box" in for calibration and bench test.  This gives you a positive starting point and you know the system works before your mechanic spends unnecessary time trouble shooting the system.  In most aircraft, the Thrust Detector "Black Box" (6" x 3") is mounted under the instrument panel within 3 ft. of the prop indicators.  Trace the blue, yellow & black prop indicator wires to find the "black box".  (Aerostar & Commander the box is mounted aft of the cabin.

Bench Test, or Repair;  * The $650.00 Price applies to all boxes that are 10 years old or older, otherwise the lower price applies.  Older boxes require a new switching unit.  They can not be just re-adjusted.
